"Jack Kemp - American Hero"

(Click the Play button below to watch video)

Jack Kemp, AFL's all star seven times, died. He was first in number of passes, completions and passing yardage. After football, Kemp turned politician representing his team's home, Buffalo. Upon entering Congress, he was called a dumb jock. When he retired after eight terms, President Reagan told him, "We showed this town how to move government: let a guy from Hollywood and a quarterback call the plays." Kemp, when in Congress, made a point of going to minority neighborhoods; saying, "I can't help but care about the people I used to shower with." When asked how football prepared him for Congress, he answered: "I've already been booed, cheered, cut, traded and sold."
