"Secrets of Public Speaking"

(Click the Play button below to watch video)

When I first started speaking publicly, I was afraid. At times, I still am. I learned a few tips: have something to say. That's eighty percent of the battle. Tell stories. Stories aren't speeches. Good speakers tell stories supporting their message. Speak at the start of an event. The audience is fresh. Cut the sales pitch. The goal is to entertain. When picking between entertaining or informing, entertain. Informing happens. And, lastly, practice. Renowned violinist Jascha Heifitz would say, "If I don't practice one day, I know it. If I don't practice two days, the audience knows it."
