Ken English
 - Literacy Program Director, New York Public Library
Most of the news today is full of spending waste -- federal and state. Violá! Good news. Ken English, director of the New York Public Library's Center for Teaching Reading and Writing to Adults, runs a cost-effective program. There are many reasons people reach adulthood unable to read and write effectively. If you're reading and watching this, fortunately, you're not a candidate for the Literacy Program. But you could be a candidate for volunteering. Budget cuts have hurt this valuable, productive program. Respond. Volunteers in various capacities are needed as you will learn from English on Getting Your Money's Worth with Judith West
